Walk Information

The Tabular Hills Walk is a 48 mile (77Km) trail which added to the Cleveland Way can make a circular walk, or can be undertaken on its own usually in 4 days.

The route starts just outside Scarborough at Scalby and ends at Helmsley (where the Cleveland Way begins).

The Tabular Hills mark the southern boundary of the North York Moors National Park. Their name comes from their distinctive table top shape, they rise up gently from the south and end abruptly in a series of steep north facing headlands.

As with the other walks we cover, apart from our door to door baggage courier service, we can arrange your accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis (we arrange accommodation where evening meals are available locally) at local inns, hotels, or guest houses, and you will be assured of a pleasant burden-free walk, with warm, dry clothing and other creature comforts ready for you at the end of each day.

The path is marked on the OS maps, and we recommend the route guide which is available for purchase through Sutton Bank Visitor Centre – tel 01845 597426, email: suttonbank@northyorkmoors.org.uk

Mobile Digital Mapping
Digital maps can be viewed on most modern smartphones using an appropriate app, downloaded from the app store associated with your device. Brigantes recommend that whichever app you use, it should support Ordnance Survey 1:25k or 1:50k scale maps. There are many apps to choose from, but the two main providers are Ordnance Survey and Memory Map.

Each provider’s app has its own benefits, but both provide all-important offline navigation, meaning your device does not need a mobile signal to work effectively on the trail.
