You will not require maps or guide books as your guide, Chris, will deal with directions, but feel free to have your own copies if you require them.

We are aware that this may be a group of strangers at the start of the walk, but by the end we hope you will have made new life long friends! It may be necessary for you to share a room with someone you don’t know at the start of the walk, but not a bed!

The price is based on a group of 10 participants, and the cut off date for booking is 29th February. At this time we will need to assess the number of clients who have signed up to the holiday, and re-evaluate the price should there be less than 10 people taking part.

If you would like to join up to this holiday, please let us know and we will send a booking form for you to complete and return. Your deposit will be due at the end of February once we know the number of participants, and final payment will be due by 4th May.

Your Guide

Chris Kerr has enjoyed walking and trekking all of his life and has a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed a very varied 30 year career in the Police Service which included establishing and running the UK’s first ever National Wildlife Crime Unit which often had him working on an international level. Since retirement he has worked with teenagers on the National Citizen Service and also adults with mental health issues. He has worked closely with Brigantes over recent years and understands the needs of our customers.

As a personal challenge he decided to harness his lifetime of walking and outdoor skills and completed his Mountain Leader Qualification in 2019.

Chris has led many people of all ages in the hills and mountains of the UK and recognises that to do that safely and responsibly nowadays, being a qualified Mountain Leader was a necessity. Chris holds Professional Indemnity Insurance and is qualified in Outdoor Emergency First Aid.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience and with stories and jokes galore, Chris will ensure that you have a safe and thoroughly enjoyable long distance walk.

In the slim chance that anything goes wrong on “trek” Chris has vast experience of dealing with emergencies and difficult situations in a calm and professional manner… you will be safe in his hands!
