Grand Depart: Route Information

July 2014 the world famous cycle race, the Tour de France, started in Yorkshire. The first two stages covered some of the most stunning scenery in the country, passing through Yorkshire’s finest Dales and over the high Moors, through remote villages and along quiet country lanes.

You can experience the highs and lows of cycling these stages, following in the wheel tracks of the professional riders, by undertaking each of the 120 mile stages, over three leisurely days. Cycle one, or both of the Tour de France stages with the assistance of Brigantes. We can provide everything you need to complete the journey, except the bikes!

Stage One: Leeds to Harrogate

Runs from Leeds to Harrogate, approximately 120 miles and takes in the glorious scenery of the Northern Dales, via Ilkley, Skipton, Kettlewell, Aysgarth, Reeth and Masham.

Stage Two: York to Sheffield

Approximately 125 miles, beginning in York and terminating in Sheffield and includes the splendour of the Southern Moors, via Harrogate, Keighley, Holmfirth and Woodhead.
